Decent value for annual plan

I went with the annual plan right after the 14-day free trial because of the annual plan discount. It ended up saving me a good chunk compared to monthly payments, which was my main goal. The timesheet automation is pretty handy for my freelance work. It's worth it for the savings and the reports.

Good for focus, some setup time

I signed up for the Premium automatic time tracking after trying the 14-day free trial. The ordering process was straightforward on their website; I just picked the annual plan for the discount. Delivery, well, it's software so that was immediate. The desktop tracker installed fine on my Mac. I had a small question about setting up a custom category for some project time tracking, and their support got back to me within a few hours with a clear explanation, which was helpful. The quality of the reports is good, very detailed. I found the distraction blocking feature particularly useful for my focus work sessions. The only minor inconvenience was the initial categorization of some apps, it needed a bit of manual tweaking to get it just right for my workflow.

Annual plan saved me money

I was looking for a time tracking solution that wouldn't break the bank, so I checked out RescueTime. I definitely went for the annual plan for the Premium automatic time tracking because of the discount, which was a good saving compared to monthly payments. The 14-day free trial let me test everything out, and I felt like it was worth the purchase after seeing how much time I was wasting. It felt a bit clunky to set up initially, but once I got it going, it was pretty smooth. Glad I got the annual deal.

Good for personal tracking

I signed up for the Premium automatic time tracking after using the free trial. It's really insightful to see where my time actually goes. The daily focus goals and weekly productivity reports are super helpful for staying on track. I did find the initial setup for specific apps a bit clunky on my Mac, but once it was running, it worked well. I appreciate the value for the annual plan.

Decent tool, works as advertised

I used the Premium automatic time tracking. It tracks time accurately. Reports are clear. Distraction blocking works. Setup was quick. The interface could be a little more modern, but it does the job.

Helped with focus

I gave RescueTime a try, the Premium automatic time tracking specifically, because I was constantly getting sidetracked. It was pretty easy to get started with, just installed it and let it do its thing. The Focus Work sessions feature was actually pretty cool; it helped me stay on task. I liked seeing the productivity reports at the end of the week, it was a good reality check. My only small complaint is that the desktop time tracker sometimes felt a little heavy on my older laptop, but it wasn't a deal-breaker. It really helped me out.

Good for understanding habits

I signed up for the Premium automatic time tracking a few weeks ago, mostly to get a better handle on where my workdays were actually going. The detailed reporting was quite insightful; it really showed me how much time I was spending on less important tasks. Setting up the distraction blocking was straightforward, though it sometimes blocked sites I actually needed for work, which was a bit annoying. The mobile app tracking was a nice bonus too, kept me honest on my phone use. Overall, I found it a valuable tool for awareness and trying to improve my focus, even with that minor hiccup.

Helped my work

Got the monthly subscription to try out RescueTime, mainly for the focus alerts. It was super easy to sign up. I like how it just runs in the background and tells me where my time goes. It's kinda wild to see how much time I was spending on things not work-related. The mobile app tracking is also a nice touch. It's made me more aware of my habits. Wish the dashboard was a little snazzier, but it does the job.

Is it easy to switch from the free trial to a paid plan if I like it? And can I cancel without a fuss if it doesn't work out after a month or two?

M Melissa R. 1 month ago
Upgrading was super simple from the dashboard, no issues there. And yeah, I canceled a different subscription a while back, it was pretty straightforward, just a few clicks.

T Thomas Torres 1 month ago
You can cancel anytime, afaik. They don't lock you in. The trial just rolls over if you don't cancel.

Anyone compared RescueTime with Toggl? I'm using Toggl right now but looking for something more automated.

K Katie Lewis 1 month ago
I switched from Toggl to RescueTime because I kept forgetting to start/stop timers. RescueTime is way better for automatic tracking; it just runs in the background. Toggl felt more manual.

Toggl is good if you like manually logging, but RescueTime is king for automatic tracking and breaking down where your time actually goes without you thinking about it.

Is the 14-day trial actually full-featured premium or is it a limited version? Wanna know if I can really test everything out.

G Grace M. 1 month ago
Yeah, it's the full premium experience. You get to try all the bells and whistles for two weeks. Definitely enough time to see if it works for you.

It's the real deal, not a watered-down trial. I used it to block distracting sites and try out the focus sessions, it all worked.

Hey, anyone know how accurate the time tracking is? Like, does it get specific with what I'm actually working on or just lump everything together?

A Amanda Hill 1 month ago
It's pretty good! It breaks down into categories and you can even label specific apps or websites. Not sure if it goes into document names though, I haven't seen that.
2
R Robert A. 1 month ago
Nah, it doesn't track specific document names, just the apps you're using and the websites you visit. But you can customize the categories a lot.

Thinking of getting this for my small team, like 5 people. Is there any way to get a discount for a team plan or do we all just sign up individually?

S Susan S. 1 month ago
They definitely have team plans with discounts. I'd check their pricing page directly, it should show different tiers.
3
J Jeff N. 1 month ago
Yeah, they do offer discounts for teams. Usually, the more people you add, the better the per-user price gets. Worth looking into their 'for teams' section.

How does RescueTime compare to something like Clockify? I've used Clockify before but looking for something more hands-off.

H Hannah Campbell 4 weeks ago
RescueTime is way more automatic, that's the main difference. Clockify you gotta manually start/stop, RescueTime just runs in the background. Good for seeing *everything* you do.
2
T Tim Thomas 4 weeks ago
For just tracking, Clockify is fine, but RescueTime's reports and distraction blocking are next level if you want to actually *improve* focus, not just log hours.

Hey guys, thinking of getting RescueTime. Does it actually make a difference, or is it just another app I'll forget about?

A Amanda N. 1 month ago
Honestly, for me, totally worth it. Seeing where my time actually goes was a huge eye-opener. Kinda hard to ignore once you see it in black and white.
1
J Jason Smith 1 month ago
Yeah, I use it for focus sessions. The blocking feature is super helpful when I really need to buckle down. It's not a magic bullet, but it helps.

I'm a student, are there any discounts for us? Money's tight lol.

M Matt Mitchell 1 month ago
Pretty sure they have a student discount! I remember seeing it mentioned somewhere. Check their site, usually they have a specific page for it.

J Jason Turner 1 month ago
Yeah, they do. I got one last year. You usually have to verify your student status, but it's a decent percentage off.
